Just as described, and works as expected. Arrived quickly. The set is a little bigger than I thought it would be, but I don't consider that a bad thing. The finish is somewhat rough, as with most cast iron items. It needs to be placed on a pad or coaster so it won't scratch countertops. But this rough texture works very well for grinding herbs/seeds. The pre-seasoning seems to wear off a bit on the end of the pestle, but I've been drying it thoroughly and rubbing some oil on it after washing, and so far I haven't had any problems with rust.. To dry, prop up off of the counter to allow all surfaces to air dry evenly. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. After drying, rejuvenate and protect the wood by rubbing it down with Butcher Block Oil. Apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of our Butcher Block Oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood.
