The trunk is a beautiful piece of sturdy solid wood. I purchased it because it has the black metal legs and front handle that complements my current industrial bedroom furniture. Only four stars because it arrived damaged in two places. One at the left hinge attachment to the wood trunk, the other is a split in the wood on the right side of the trunk where the leg attaches. We were able to nail the wooden block into place to attach the metal leg securely and hopefully prevent further splintering. The quality control needs to be in place for both the preparation of the furniture for shipment AND ensuring the shipper HANDLES THE FURNITURE WITH CARE DURING SHIPMENT. This accent cabinet was packaged well and not damaged. One of the drawer handles wasn’t attached, but we found all the screws and put it on, no problem. I noticed when adding supplies that the drawers don’t have anything to keep them from coming all the way out out when opening. So I’ll just have to be careful with that. Needed something to store kindling wood for wood stove. This wooden chest was exactly what I needed. The chest ls rustic,finished on 3 sides with a very sturdy hinge that holds the lid up for loading and unloading. The hasp on the front is for looks only,doesn’t actually secure the lid.
