We ordered this to top a 36” cabinet and to create a crafting space. The wood is absolutely beautiful. It does have some deep imperfections like in the photo, but still pretty. It is scalloped on both of the long sides so you have to be careful if you’re putting it up against the wall. We chose not to plane it to make it straight because the scalloping is very pretty. I was specifically looking for a 24” x 24” square table for my small apartment, and this worked perfectly for creating a small dining area. The top feels solid, and I paired it with a table base from another seller since this is just the tabletop. The finish wasn’t quite what I expected, but it’s still nice overall. Also worth noting that only one side is finished—the bottom is unfinished. Mine looks similar to the darker wood shown in the first two photos. These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Nice smooth edges too so no additional sanding needed. They were less than half the cost of what I could get through my local big box DIY store. This was a awesome find. Never knew it would be this hard to find a bar top but if you can get your hands on it purchase with confidence. It is finished beautifully and only needs to be installed. If you try to buy this direct the shipping costs are outrageous. Just get it from Wayfair as it ships 10x faster and is actually cheaper when you account for the shipping costs of company direct. I am able to use this for my needs however it is not accurately advertised. It is not reclaimed wood as it is hollow and absolutely exact to the photo which confirms it is manufactured for consistency, The photo is true and great effort has been put into making it look like real wood.
