This accent cabinet was packaged well and not damaged. One of the drawer handles wasn’t attached, but we found all the screws and put it on, no problem. Some mentioned that it was too distressed, but I like it the way it is. It’s perfectly vintage and goes with my she-shed theme. It feels sturdy enough - not flimsy. I noticed when adding supplies that the drawers don’t have anything to keep them from coming all the way out out when opening. So I’ll just have to be careful with that. It’s very sturdy and nice dresser. The only issue I have with this dresser is the sliding door. I got this to use in my kitchen, as I live in an apartment and space is limited. Delivery was pretty quick. The time I spent assembling it was several hours. Even though it was a good deal price wise, I don’t know that I’d order something like this again that had so much assembly required. The black decorative parts at the top of each door are uneven and those came on the doors already. They were not assembled by me. Maybe not noticeable to everyone but to me it was. We were a bit hesitant to purchase based on reading the very few negative reviews on this product (one or two reviews discussing damage during shipment and one or two reviews showing what they considered inferior wood finishing and quality). Here's the deal.....the cabinet is shipped with very clear instructions showing which end should be "up" during shipment. It's shipped with the cabinet upside down to protect the legs from damage. If the shipping company doesn't pay attention to the shipping instructions and is rough with the box, I could see where potential damage to the legs could happen. The shipping company that delivered ours must have paid attention to the instructions as ours arrived in perfect condition. Regarding the comments about the wood being rough and unfinished, I'd classify this product as having a slightly distressed look with a bit of white washed look to the wood. I'm certain that was the intent of the manufacturer and that was the look we wanted. Regarding comments about the drawer quality, I get it. These are not dovetail drawers and are what I'd classify as pretty cheaply made. But, we didn't purchase this to hold 20lbs of weight in a drawer. I think they'll be just fine if not abused. And yes, the actual cabinet (sides, bottom and internal framework is made of metal and powder coated to the color you see in the pics. You would never know that just by looking at it.
