We spray painted metal towers and covered shelves with white wood grain contact paper to lighten up this dark set. Quite easy to put together with two people with half stands propped on ottoman. Did put together top and bottom with holes facing wrong way and had to remove and flip one bottom tower so that joining screws found holes. Very wobbly and definitely anchored to wall on either side. I like the design. For anyone that has books or dvd's it maybe hard for them to prop up alone without support. Only issues is the packers at the warehouse or manufacture packed it with scuffs in the black paint on multiple parts. I tried to hide them toward the back side. I would send it back for a replacement but Wayfair charges for shipping it back to the price of the item. The carriers beat up the package during transit for sure. Easy to put together and it looks like the pictures. As other reviews mention, the wood is not real but it’s a pretty good fake. I gave it 4 stars because it doesn’t come with any wall mounting hardware and they are lightweight enough that they can easily tip if a little one tries to climb them. I purchased two and absolutely love them. They look just like the picture and are designed to last. I'm very experienced with attacking this type of project. Assembly is an 8 out of 10 in difficulty because of how long it takes to put it together, and I have large hands, so I was not able to fit my fingers into the smaller spaces to install the support brackets near the end.
