Personally I think it was damaged in transit but there were chips in the paint on most of the drawers so maybe not. I would have just touched it up with some paint but then while unpacking it I noticed huge damage to one of the side drawers that would make it impossible to assemble. Much of the Styrofoam packaging was crumbled and getting all over the place which made it all the more infuriating as I had spent an hour slowly unpacking and wiping down the pieces. Holy moly that took maybe 6 hours to put together but I LOVE it!!! I’ve probably put 20 pieces of furniture from Wayfair together, and this was by far the hardest. I was nervous about the pre-drilled holes not lining up like in other reviews but mine were fine and honestly, the wood where the holes are is so thin you could easily drill your own. The only part I screwed up was step 3 with board number 5. Board 5 is smaller and the screws have unique placing so be sure to everything lines up perfectly when you get to step 5. The Caliyah dresser is Absolutely wonderful and fits into our cabin perfectly. The white glove delivery service was exceptional, and the two men who delivered the dresser to our home with professional, courteous and friendly. They followed up with Wayfair when they discovered there were missing screws for a few of the handles and an unexpected part that wasn’t attached resulted in a great discount once the delivery driver called into Wayfair.
