It’ll take some getting used to but the aesthetics are pleasing to my eyes. I went from dark cherry finish with box springs down to a distressed white platform bed. I can’t stop looking at it every time I walk into my room! Disclaimer It took 2 people approx 3 hours to assemble. If you’re doing it by yourself it’ll take much longer. It’s easier with at least 2 people and (if you’re the 2nd person go ahead and find you an allen wrench, it’ll go by faster than our 3 hours). Tip The box is heavy and much heavier if you’re going upstairs, so get some muscles to help you. Also check off each item as you take it out of the box, to make sure nothing is missing.. Instructions are missing at least one whole step, but if you have some sense upstairs you should be able to figure it out. I recently purchased the Ophelia Solid Wood Platform Bed in the Chalk finish (King size) and I couldn’t be happier. This bed is everything I wanted and more. The chalk color is beautiful — it has that perfect weathered, driftwood look with subtle white undertones that make the natural wood grain pop without looking too gray or too brown. This box was so heavy to bring to my 2nd floor guest room. Definitely need 2 people. It took me 3 hours to put this bed together and I am pretty much a pro at assembly. It looks nice enough and functional for a spare bedroom that does not get used often. It is cheap, put together yourself furniture and the wood is very soft. I can imagine it getting very marked up with use. The drawers are not smooth at all and stick depending on what kind of carpenter you are. The price is fair for what you get therefor cannot be disappointed. There is also a nightstand that matches this dresser although a different brand. But together, you can’t tell the difference.
