We spray painted metal towers and covered shelves with white wood grain contact paper to lighten up this dark set. Quite easy to put together with two people with half stands propped on ottoman. Did put together top and bottom with holes facing wrong way and had to remove and flip one bottom tower so that joining screws found holes. Very wobbly and definitely anchored to wall on either side. I like the design. For anyone that has books or dvd's it maybe hard for them to prop up alone without support. Only issues is the packers at the warehouse or manufacture packed it with scuffs in the black paint on multiple parts. I tried to hide them toward the back side. I would send it back for a replacement but Wayfair charges for shipping it back to the price of the item. The carriers beat up the package during transit for sure. Love this shelf! Please do yourself a favor and hire a professional to mount it. Hubby and I almost met our maker trying to get this on the wall ourselves! The small plastic anchors were not nearly strong enough to hold such a heavy shelf. It requires metal, heavy duty anchors. Also the holes were not aligned properly.
