This dresser is constructed from MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), a high-quality engineered wood product known for its smooth surface and durability. Wish we could give 1/2 stars; I'd have given this 4 1/2. Only drawbacks are the sliding doors do not completely articulate leaving about an 1/8th of an inch gap into the center storage area when the doors are in the center position and those corners on the upper shelf are SHARP. I'm certainly glad I had Wayfair assemble the item as I believe it would have been more of a challenge than I was up for. I'm very pleased with the dimensions and how my 55" TV looks on it.. Shari.
