The bookshelf is very nice and solid with a lot of shelf space. However, I did run into an issue with the holes on one of the pieces not fitting together. I was able to contact support and we managed to find a solution together. The rest of the build was fairly easy and painless from that point forward. As far as the shelf goes, its very sturdy and holds a lot of books. The shelves are incredibly easy to move if you want one shelf to be larger or smaller. We are using this as a shoe cabinet. Wayfair calls it a bookshelf, but I don’t think I would ever recommend it for books — the shelves are not adjustable and are way too short for books. They are perfect for our shoes, though! Even our boots fit nicely on the taller shelves. I am giving four stars because the construction of the doors, though cute, is not very sturdy at all. If you have active pets or kids I think they’re likely to break easily. Hopefully ours hold up since it’s in an out of the way location in our home, but only time will tell. I got two of these and they are perfect. My father made some kind of extended anti-tipping wall anchors since I wanted the shelves on a wall with a baseboard heater so they were a bit far from the wall for the anchors they come with. I included photos. Please ignore my empty photo frames. I needed to stage the shelves so I'll know exactly how it all fits. The shelves are a beautiful color and exactly what I was looking for. This is my first Wayfair review, although not my first purchase. I absolutely love everything about this door! It is heavy and sturdy, and it slides well for open and close. I will be drilling a few small holes on the shelf side, for hooks to store car keys and other items to have handy by the front door. It’s exactly what I pictured for my space. However, I gave this a 4-star due to the unclear instructions. It took my husband and me over an hour to put the door together, and then an afternoon to install it. This is definitely a two-person job! I really wish companies would understand that most of us aren’t assemblers by nature, and that step-by step photos and super-specific instructions go a long way towards a customer’s satisfaction.
