Used the mop method for the 1st time. It does a pretty good job. Not like a hand mop but it does clean up sticky spills and picks up dirt left behind but the vacuum. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Roomba Plus vacuum and mop is what mom dreams are made of! I have an infant and 2 dogs that shed like crazy. This Roomba saves me SO much time cleaning. You can set different routines daily, every other day, once a week, whatever you want and you can have multiple different routines for different times. The app is extremely easy to navigate. I currently have 3 different routines programmed, one of which is daily. It can be programmed to vacuum, mop, or vacuum and mop at the same time. There are also multiple different settings for vacuum suctioning and mop settings. During mopping the mop pads come out so that it gets into corners and along the baseboards. I don’t even have to think about starting the Roomba because it automatically starts and redocks itself along with self emptying dirty water and emptying what is vacuumed up. The Roomba maps your house and goes in a pattern when cleaning so nothing is left untouched. It has sensors on it so it never runs into walls, furniture, etc. The app allows you to mark no go areas where the vacuum won’t ever go. It also allows you to do spot cleaning or request to clean specific rooms. If it is in the middle of a routine you can pause or end it. It is not very loud at all compared to the last robot vacuum I had. It is louder on carpet than it is on hardwood. The two things I have noticed which bother me are: 1. It will run over cords and does not notice/ does not stop. And 2. It does not alert you when the dock needs to be emptied so you just have to occasionally check. I’m converting from an upright to a canister vacuum, so I’ve had to change my technique in how I vacuum the house. Instead of starting at one end of the room and then stepping backward to make the next path as I’ve always done with an upright, that way just doesn’t work for a few reasons, but to keep this brief, instead I now pick a section of the room to start (my rooms are small to average in size at only 1100 sq feet total), so it’s usually towards the center of the room where I position the canister vacuum and begin a starburst pattern. I keep the canister vacuum relatively in the same spot, until I am ready to begin in another section. This way there is less moving of the canister vacuum. Now the hose and handle are quite long when combined on the Kenmore canister vacuum, not to mention sturdy, so I only reposition 2 or 3 times in my smaller-size rooms, and I’m done in that room. Pros are, it gets under furniture much easier than an upright, hands down, and it is quieter. A bonus of this machine is you can control the suction, and therefore that is done with changing the speed of the motor, so if you can do light cleaning at a lower suction and not feel like your waking the entire house., The noise level drops dramatically. For me, this alone seals the deal on this cleaning machine. I also liked that all the tools are stored on the body of the vacuum and covered, so they’re not getting knocked off, and I’m not having to constantly run to the closet to dig through a bag of parts looking for the right attachment. All full size vacuums should follow Kenmore ways of thinking and designing vacuum cleaners in my opinion. Even though I found my work around in my style of vacuuming, it is a bit more difficult to carry around, a bit bulky, but I am not at all regretting my purchase of a canister vac, and I highly recommend the option pop and go bagged canister vacuum by Kenmore. I think it does just as good, if not better, of a job than vacuums two or three times higher in price. It’s built sturdy, which makes it a little heavier, but I expect it to last for many, many years. I suggest you give this vacuum a test yourself and see if you agree. Oh I almost forgot, one last thing I think you should know, it seems to pick up dog hair on hard surfaces better than upright models that I’ve vacuumed with in the past.. Thomas. Palm Springs, CA.
