Excellent duck coop. Easy to set up with my grand childrens assistance. I added more layers of poultry wire and hardware cloth to the sides and top make break-ins more difficult. Also hardware cloth used as ground floor and apron covered with sod and then pine shavings. Placed the heavy duty XL anti-diggers around the perimeter. We have not had any intrusions in this set-up.. I really like this run! If you don’t over stretchpull the chicken wire, you can get it nice and taught without waves and sags. This is my second chicken coop from Wayfair. Unlike the first one, the instructions on putting this coop together were excellent but the instructions for installing the mesh were lacking. (Unclear on how to wrap the coopdoor section). I had to buy a lot of extra zip ties. The stake hole location could be improved. Sometimes the stake holes are blocked from the coop frame. This cage was 'as expected', seems pretty sturdy and was pretty straight forward and easy to put together. Took a little time, I did it by myself, but all the screws and brackets seem solid. using it for a rooster that we need to keep away from the other roosters, so it fulfills our need--with one major flaw. Now, I knew this going in and we remedied it on our own with zip ties and chicken wire, but be aware that the only roof is the vinyl/tent top and that tent top will not keep out a raccoon or other eager predator in any way. We have a tiny 2 x2 coop inside this run that we can lock at night, but do add some kind of chicken wire under the canopy if you plan to rely on it for safety, which can easily be done before you put the canopy on. I wish it came with a secure roof, but from what I am seeing, none of these come with a solid roof, so this will have to do, and it seems to be working out for us.. Daniel. Bloomington, IN. Cage was exactly what I expected. We put a nesting box in for our broody chicken and her eggs. I think it will be perfect for when this weekend when chicks are born and they need to go outside. The flock will be able to see them and get use to them. I've never done this before so it will be interesting. The cage went together easily and when our hen is done we are planning on using it to plant clover and let it grow so hens can't eat it before its fully grown. When we're ready we can easily pick it up and move it to start something else to grown that they can't get into until we are ready. Delivery was quick and set up was great. Pictures are worth a thousand words and were very easy to follow. My ducks are happy with their new home. The two doors are a huge plus. I fit a small pool in one and use the other for access for water and food. I am going to look for more cover as the one that it comes with is nice but not enough for my area. So I had a squirrel problem getting in my garden and this solved all my problems by being able to put everything inside together. We found it easy to assemble with everything included.My opinion to improve would be not zip ties as they rot and i bought metal rebar ties instead. Do not purchase! This is falsely advertised. It just chicken wire, not hardware cloth, and there is not a double door as appears. I’ve already contacted the manufacturer and they stated this is the normal product, but they have failed to correct the falsely advertised product. This is just chicken wire with a single door, but they are showing hardware cloth. Overall, this chicken coop is a bit of a mixed bag. Assembly wasn’t overly difficult, but the instructions could definitely be clearer. I ended up having to backtrack and redo a few steps because some of the diagrams were confusing. This is absolutely a two-person job, and it helps if at least one of you isn’t afraid of heights because there are several overhead pieces to install. One thing I do like is that the wire mesh has a plastic coating, which should help prevent rust and extend the life of the enclosure. Unfortunately, the wire itself is much thinner than I expected. I don’t feel confident that it would keep determined predators out, so I would recommend reinforcing it with heavier-gauge hardware cloth if you’re planning to house chickens or other vulnerable animals. Overall, the frame goes together fairly easily once you figure out the instructions, but the quality of the wire keeps this from being a great value in my opinion.
