The chair is made from very very good, firm leather. It looks, feels and acts like a typical "club" chair. The chair seat is on the narrow side, so keep that in mind. I am a 34" waist (fit in the chair very nicely) but much larger and you would be squeezed. This chair is very nice, and the price was reasonable. I will say due to the leather like covering being “slick” any throw blankets I drape on it tends to want to slide off. The chair is attractive and comfortable, but it was not manufactured with care. One of the back brackets was not attached at the correct angle, so the chair back would not go down all the way. But luckily, my handyman was able to remove and reposition it. Also, the stitching on one side is crooked and doesn't cover the staples as it should.
