The Mosaic Collection is made of raised pile squares with soft edges: when your foot hits the pile it crushes, and its silklike memory means the squares move with wear, so it looks better as you live with it. Our washable Mosaic Collection has a pile design made up of small squares, much like its namesake, and behaves like its namesake as well: the small boxes morph shape once they're walked on, creating a series of softened, imperfect squares. Susa is named for the site of ancient Mosaics made with the first known glazed tiles, from around 1500 BC. Its design of Albers-inspired concentric squares is a single color with a tone-on-tone effect.

It's exactly what I was looking for in my new living room. Perfectly soft and enough texture in the design that it doesn't feel "flat" but won't be the focal piece of the room. Color is exactly as expected, but realize that it can vary depending on the direction of the fibers and how the light is hitting them. It's punctuated by shorter stripes of charcoal, and its top and bottom edges are done in a cute, asymmetric mini-checkerboard. These pieces have a cool cast to them, with grays and taupes veering towards faint blues and purples. Their channeled construction is thick and soft, adding lots of cushion to your footfall. The organic, geometric shapes are a reference in part to Anni and Josef Albers' trips to Mexico, where they studied Mayan temples and pre-Columbian art, searching for inspiration among the greats.

We made a better washable rug. Yildiz offers a modern take on traditional Turkish motifs, done in tonal colors and textures. Its pile is—we cannot emphasize this enough—divinely soft. This collection has a slightly lower pile than most of our recycled polyester washable rugs, which makes their yarn a little less shiny. It also makes it a bit easier to fit them in your washing machine.

Plus, their lightness and foldability makes washing easy. Done in calm neutrals, their gentle motifs are carved out in relief, reminiscent of woodcut printing. Kelp is a monochromatic rug composed of interlocking leaf-like shapes carved in relief, which add both continuity and movement.

Our washable Hana collection is inspired by artistic styles from across the globe. Our designers drew inspiration from the Dansaekhwa movement, a Korean abstractionism style known for its rich textures, pattern repetition, and monochromatic layering. They also looked to Zarina's geometric screenprints and Mark Rothko's evocative color fields. Baram's central color is bookended by contrasting stripes.
