Nice, resin dish! It is, looks and feels like plastic, if you are wondering about that. The color is accurate in the description. It is a large saucer. Standard saucer mounts from my research are 4.5 inches. This works on 4.25 and has notches like threads to hold it in place. As added benefit, because it is very shallow at the edges, if its not filled completely the honeybees are able to drink from it too, without drowning. I'm using this by placing it over a rotted out metal bird bath. So I'm still using the base from the old one and this is definitely a substantial bowl. It's not thin at all.
