I just opened up the package from wayfair and saw the blue planter i ordered. Very pretty blue, but much bigger ( taller) than i expected. But as i get used to the size i think it will look beautiful on my patio with some smaller pots, and the height allows for roots to expand and plants to GROW nice and large. Color is lovely, as pictured . Lightweight plastic, which is great for stacking and storing. However, there’s no drainage hole even though they come with a rubber stopper. They also don’t have anything like a built-in stopper, so I had to put bricks in mine to (1) weigh them down and (2) ensure my flowers don’t fall in. Good value for the price given the above.. Katie. I love the look of these planters! I haven’t had a chance to plant anything in them yet, but I’m going to put some mums in them as fall approaches. The HDPE is sturdy, but light, the color is a very attractive brownish-black (not pure black, which I actually prefer), and the hammered pattern gives a really nice subtle visual interest. The only observationconcern I have, which may turn out to be unfounded once I plant things in them, is I wonder if the tapered base will make them prone to tipping. Now these are COOL! And goodness, what a brilliant assembly structure. Those little locking tabs are genius. A couple bottom screws and boom, done. They’re well built and exceptionally sturdy. I sprayed the hydrogen peroxide, vinegar and salt solution and they were good and rusty in like two hours. I like that they come with a special netting basket for dirt in the top shelf area should you decide to plant insist rather than just use pots. I’m not sure which direction to go yet. These are huge! And perfect for our streets cul-de-sac, they make a statement. They were lightweight enough for a 60 something woman to unbox. With help, we drilled a larger drainage hole from the inside and filled it with rock and sand. That still leaves you with half of the pot to hold dirt and plants. They are now so heavy that hopefully they can withstand what Florida can dish out. They have remained as bright as when first placed.
