It does produce quite a bit of heat even in open areas. The only thing I do not like is that it is very low to the floor. If you were wanting to use it as a table, I would recommend using a riser underneath to lift it off the floor, even like to round cylinder outdoor tables that are maybe 20 inches tall would look cute and some plants underneath I do give it a five star rating and I highly recommend for purchase. Very cheaply made. It's not wood nor is it marble, it is a cast of plaster and fiberbond. The paint job was poor and you could tell it was fake, not to mention the poor craftsmanship. We absolutely love this outdoor fire table! It looks beautiful on our deck and really completed the space. The quality is great, and it fits perfectly with our outdoor furniture and decor.
