Painted just after the Franco-Prussian war, this allegory of foolish unpreparedness takes inspiration from Aesop's wise fable, "The Cicada and the Ant." The French artist's idyllically beautiful work was first exhibited at the 1872 Paris Salon and was seen as a critique of Napoleon III. The authentic stretched canvas replica captures the original painting's texture, depth of color, and even its brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. It is surrounded by an imported, antique gold-toned, delicately sculpted 4" wide designer resin frame with a leaf motif. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.

This canvas print brings a tree-lined river landscape to your walls with an impressionistic composition. The scene depicts the Epte River near Giverny, with leafy trees framing the water beneath a pale blue sky. Layers of green, blue, yellow, and lavender create variation across the foliage and reflections, while visible brushwork gives the image a softly textured appearance. The horizontal orientation emphasizes the sweeping riverbank and surrounding greenery, creating a broad view of the landscape. The deep and luxurious sleep of a warm afternoon yawns from each quietly comfortable element in this splendid painting, whether it be the leafy whisper of the palms overhead or the embroidered pillow cradling the head of a beautiful maiden. American artist Bridgman amassed a collection of costumes, architectural pieces and objets d'art from his North African travels, and used them to exotic employ in his paintings. Though he moved to and lived in Paris in pursuit of inspiration, his popularity in America never waned. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. The replica 3.25" wide, European style frame is cast in quality designer resin and highlighted with a beaded inner border and an antiqued ebony finish. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.

Monet's mastery of color and light is so precise that one not only sees, but also seems to 'hear' his work. The light filtering through the poplar trees envelopes the woman and her parasol as a dog romps through the poppy fields around her. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. The replica 4.375" wide, European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.
