This is a very sturdy, solid bookcase and fits perfectly in the small entryway to our coastal bedroom. I rated it a 4 because one of the cane panels wasn't stretched tight enough compared to the others so there was a slight bulge. Otherwise, it would have been a 5. The cane is a nice touch to complement the wood. Wayfair Customer Service has been great in resolving the issue. I also used the assembly service from Angi. Got a pair to hold board games. Yes, they are metal (but could you expect wood this thin to be strong?) and are about the right size. Easy to put together for the most part, and I had no trouble getting holes to line up, but they do tend to rock/wobble just a bit. And there is a LOT of bright brass hardware that shows on the sides.
