This is a great raised garden bed. We did get chicken wire and put it under the entire structure, so moles and gophers couldn't come up through it, and believe me they have tried. The flaps are great when harvesting the back side of the plants. I didn't give this a 5 star, because the gate doesn't stay shut without propping something on it or placing a rock pile under it. The base of the planter is poorly made. The tiny nails that are fixed to the platform are not enough to keep the bottom base from collapsing and warping. Surprisingly sturdy given the price and compared to other items that look identical but cost twice as much. The directions say 2 people to assemble and 2 hours…they aren’t kidding about how long it takes but I was able to put this together by myself.
