This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. I don’t have a picture showing the bookcase side headboard, but it’s very nice. The base has so much storage and the whole thing is sturdy. This is my daughter’s tiny college bedroom so storage was important! It took a Wayfair professional assembler over 4 hours to put it together, and she did a fantastic job. The only complaint is FedEx which lostmisplaced all my orders and they were awful about accountability. I went to the service center and after 2 hours of searching, we found my orders and they put them in my car. It was in 2 boxes and weighed a ton. We got 2 of these for our boys who share a room. It took us about 3-4 hours to get both set up. The second one was much quicker obviously. Over all we like them.
