Pictured here is the shell before the mattress. This is a twin-sized frame, but there are still 4 drawers (although this bed is against the wall so no access to the drawers on that side, but it does make for extra storage.
I purchased this bed as a replacement for my grandson's last metal framed bed. This is the 3rd frame in less than two years. Even though the description said the weight capacity was much larger than he is, both frames bent easily. We needed to find a wooden frame that would hold up to a teenager's plopping. We hope that, despite the slats and part of the frame are metal, the capacity for this bed was very good, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.
