Queen Victoria Matelasse Bedspreads

Luxuriously quilted in a fancy blossom stitch all over, this set features fabric-bound scalloped borders. The classic stitch pattern pairs easily with existing decor and will add a new decorative element to the bedroom.

I am so happy with my purchase of this bedspread!!! The bedspread is absolutely beautiful in person!!! It was my third purchase to try and find the right look for my room. I have an extra thick mattress and this one fits wonderfully being a Queen extra wide with plenty of overhang on both sides of the bed. Most full/queens spreads do not completely cover my queen bed with the proper overhang but this one does. Great Purchase!!! I am in love with this one!!!. Nanette. US. Tue Aug 25 2026

I’m delighted with this beautiful quilt. It’s much prettier than the pictures showed when shopping. I like the weight of it, too. The online description only included the length of this bedspread. Through Chat the customer support gave me both length and width of queen, king, and California king. With this information I was able to determine that I wanted a queen size for my king bed as a coverlet; I turned it sideways and it fits perfectly. I'm very impressed with the lightweightness of this spread, just what we wanted. It also is very soft. I chose the blush color and it is a very subtle color and we like it very much. There was no off-gassing smell. We haven't washed it yet. Hoping it doesn't shrink too much.. Barbara. Tucson, AZ. Mon Jun 22 2026

Hugh is a classic matelassé constructed of mercerized cotton for a sleek appearance and hand feel. The all-over stippling design provides subtle interest, and the coverlet is finished with scalloped edge rounded front corners. Matelasse (mat-la-SAY) is a weaving or stitching technique yielding a pattern that appears quilted or padded. Matelass may be achieved by hand, on a jacquard loom, or a quilting machine. It is meant to mimic the style of hand-stitched quilts made in Marseilles, France. It is a heavy, thick textile that appears to be padded, but actually has no padding within the fabric. Our Hugh Matelasse has a soft, pebble-like texture.

if I could have given zero Stars I would have. the appearance in the photos is nothing like the reality. I have had comforters of this style before and they are beautifully stitched and well made. this thing is actually furry, no kidding the fur is about 3/8 of an inch long and it looks extremely tacky and for $80! even for $15 I would have returned it. then when I tried to return it they wanted to charge me a $15 return fee even though I just returned two upholstered wood benches that were six times this size and in two boxes that came in the wrong finish for free. every time I try to return it on the website or through chat it would not do it finally had to call customer service and a live agent handled it for me. this is a third order in a row that I've had trouble with coming in other than as presented on their website. I've ordered from Wayfair for years and never had trouble but lately it's nothing but problems I don't know what's going on with the company but I don't think I'll be ordering from them again..
