It’s sturdy enough that I am able to lay in the top bunk with my 11yr old and it holds up great, my husband is 300lb and lays on the bottom bunk with our 9yr old with no issues! Very solid! And we love the pull out trundle twin size bed for when they have their cousins or friends over! We currently have our nugget play couch on the trundle rather than a mattress, but will be getting a mattress for it. We were initially going o to purchase 2 twin beds to fit into our 2nd bedroom, but happened upon this bunk bed. I have never made a big furniture purchase from Wayfair, so I was a bit leery about buying something I hadn't seen in person. What a great buy! The wood was solidly made, and the color was flawless. My husband could not stop commenting on the quality of the wood, and how well organized the parts and directions were. It took a couple of hours to put everything together, but it truly was a great purchase. The slats were included, so all we needed to add were the mattresses. It’s huge bunk bed. I could believe that there’s a queen over king bunkbed, i usually see twin over full. That’s why this bunk bed is massive. Look good and sturdy. My 10 year old has the top bunk and my 2 year old has the bottom.. while it is a beautiful bed, I will say that when my 10 year old at 110 pounds moves around you can definitely feel movement and wobbling from below, but there is a steel bar that runs underneath the top bunk that reassures me that it is secure. It took us a about 3 hours to build, just make sure that the headboard and footboard are in the right facing position bc we had to redo ours. I also will note that the headboard and footboard slats dont fit in snuggly and are wobbly. Pine wood is a softer wood and I am already aware of some dings and dents but am still happy that this is not an MDF product so should hope last still for some years. Overall, still a better price point than big box stores and the value is there for us and our family. Would recommend knowing that its not perfect but functional.. Kerisah. Matthews, NC.
