The bed took me 6 hours to assemble by myself. I would look at the entire way to assemble starting at step 20. For me it was easier to do the top bunk matress bars first. The top bunk is not very attractive once its made so I inserted a base under the mattress to tuck the sheets under. (Not shown in photo). This loft bed was exactly what we were looking for. My husband put it together in 3 hours; pretty simple instructions. One thing I wanted to note!: This bed can be built with the stairs on EITHER SIDE. We were so confused looking at the photos trying to figure out which side the stairs were on, but it comes with two sets of instructions, one for each side, so that worked out perfectly. We added some support to the wall because it does shake a bit if you're up on the bed. You do need to get a 6 inch mattress or else the safety bars won't reach above the mattress. I am not happy with this furniture. I had my grandson who was very qualified to assemble the bed. It is for my nine year-old grandson who weighs approximately 60 pounds. Sturdy and heavy duty feeling. Instructions were easy to follow but took me (a 5’3 woman) about 5ish hours to build alone. Would definitely be faster with additional help.
