I absolutely love the tile. One of the pictures Wayfair had showed the tile placed diagonally on the wall and I fell in love with it. I asked my tile guy if he could do it and he said sure not a problem truly looks like a masterpiece. The tile has beautiful shades of green I paired a bluish colored tile, grout. The paint color I used on the walls was a succulent from Sherwin-Williams. I will share that boxes of tiles were received broken and Wayfair was great and replace them. We were Inspired by Guastavino's exquisite tile arch when we create our Guastavino tile Collection; Guastavino was a Spanish architect and builder. Based on the Catalan vaults he created the Guastavino tile, a "Tile Arch System" patented in the United States in 1885 and used for constructing robust, self-supporting arches and architectural vaults using interlocking terracotta tiles and layers of mortar. Guastavino tile is found in some of New York's most prominent Beaux-Arts landmarks and in major buildings across the United States. It is used in a huge number of architecturally important and famous buildings with vaulted spaces. Guastavino was not the principal architect for most of the projects.

The tile is delivered "old-world charm" with its traditional handmade appearance and glazes variation. The glossy crackle effect and distressed edges result in a traditional character that will make a statement on any backsplash or wall.

The tile is really pretty. Make sure you get the correct grout color— we went a little lighter and I wish we kept a color that matches the edge of the tile better. One thing to note— check the boxes at delivery. Only two of the four boxes we ordered were usable. In one box ALL of the tiles were broken in half (assume they weren’t packed well for delivery?) and half of the tiles were broken in another box. This was really annoying as we had a contractor there to do the work, but he couldn’t finish because the tiles were unusable. Wayfair sent us a second pair of boxes, but it took a week and we now have to wait for the contractor to have availability in order to return and finish the job. These are 6"x2" Bejmat tiles (150x50x13mm). Bejmat are a particular style of rectangular Glazed Zellige tiles, with slabs cut before firing. These thinner bejmat help reduce the weight for wall applications. Produced by hand in Fez, Morocco, these Moroccan mosaic floor tiles are known the world over. Still made with the local clays, and fired in kilns powered by olive pits, these rectangular floor tiles are authentic Zellige (zellij).
