I received my new CHI iron and started using it right away I do not use water in my irons so I can't evaluate the steam feature but the iron gets plenty hot. I am a quilter and it did a nice job on the cotton setting. It is also a good weight and not too heavy for me. I have shoulder problems on my right side but the iron was easy to use.
