A compact, clean-lined buffet that blends classic Shaker styling with everyday storage. We purchased three oak cabinets to make a buffet. All came in perfect shape due to excellent packaging. Instructions are easy to follow pictures, but we found that putting hinges on panels 2 and 3, right from the start made it easier to put doors on at the end, since it’s hard to screw on when everything is put together. The trick at the end is to make sure the hinges are in closed position then place door holes over hinge, as if the door was completely closed. Then slowly open the door and the hinge will be in correct position to screw the remaining screws on door backside. Also double check that panel 5 is in correct position with locking mechanism near panel 4, otherwise you will have the holes of the mechanism on the top side of the shelf when finished and will have to use oak stickers to cover up the silver hardware. The veneer on the desktop came with dark, greasy fingerprints and chips missing around the edges. The instructions that were included did not match in any way, shape or form, the product in the box. The part list did not have all of the parts. The assembly pictographs were unclear, and most of them did not match the parts that I eventually used. Many of the metal fasteners stripped while I tightened them, despite using a hand screw driver and many years experience in carpentery. The copious amount of extra hardware included indicates they have a generic package of hardware that they ship, but many of the components still do not match what is in the instructions.
