Firstly- Wayfair customer service is actually great. They sent me a whole new table after parts went missing in shipment, and even picked up the old incomplete table. Secondly- this review needs a video. It's shocking how easy it is to expand this table- and it looks so continuous- it doesnt suddenly have a completely different grain in the middle. I love that the leaf stays in place and protected- and that i dont have to get everyone's help to extend my table. The table itself is stunning and so easy to assemble. The wood grain is just the most divine color. It looks luxurious and Im in love. One downside to this table that I didnt think about- the legs are not actually getting 19" further apart. The top is expanding- which makes it super easy to expand, but a bit more of a challenge to fit chairs across, as the legs arent getting further apart. So you kind of do need to use small, maybe some elegant folding chairs, when you extend, as a full additional dining chair probably wont fit on each side Lastly- the packaging of the leaflet isn't great. Both tables, the leaflet was bent and partially damaged. We were able to use a rubber mallet to hammer back in place. We were lucky the new table had damage only on the hidden side of the leaflet , but our first table was badly damaged on both sides. oh, and, after Christmas, we had a small hole on the table- not sure what, but kind of seemed like a burn mark. it seems like the top layer of the wood might be fragile and prone to heat damage- I'll just have to wait and see about longevity. For the packaging, legs, and potential fragility of the top surface, im giving 4 stars to an almost perfect table. After all, the legs issue is probably a problem with all built in leaflet tables, but just one i never thought about before, and one that really hinders seating of large parties. Overall very pretty and sturdy. I am grateful I hired the delivery people to put it together. The cement top is very heavy. I had a concern with one top bolt not same amount tightened but all seems to be secure. I like that there is a cover for the umbrella opening. And perhaps it’s my uneven patio causing the issue. The only other item that was different is the color of the top is a lot darker than what was shown in the pictures. Very dark gray. It works but preference was the lighter gray as shown. Absolutely love this table and chair set - deliberated a long long time on what combination of table and chairs to get. It should be noted that Wayfair does offer a lot of mix and match as sets (meaning the same chairs are offered worn multiple tables and vice versa) so I was weary that the chairs and table wouldn’t match but in this case it’s a great fit. I was looking for a set big enough to fit a lot of people at holidays but also not be too large and obtrusive as the dining room in my house ends up being a walk through. Furniture store sets I looked at had these huge bulky chairs and they were way too stately for what I needed. This table and chairs worked exactly for what I needed. easily allowing the set to stay fully extended while not blocked any pathways. The color really brings all the tones of my house together and does exactly what I wanted. I ordered the Brownstone color which is a deep brown with some beautiful variation in tone. The finish has a slight sheen so it's a bit reflective rather than absorbing all the light. It's lovely with very heavy-duty hardware. However, it does not have a self-storing leaf as advertised! The two leaves must be removed and stored separately. A big reason I ordered this table was because we have very limited storage space in our apartment. I'm not returning it, though, because we waited many months for delivery and it's just what we wanted otherwise. In fact, I love it and managed to find space for the leaves.
