Because they are going on a second floor ceiling, which is vaulted and might be 24 feet high. We have to have our electricians come out to install these. Love these lights. Easy to assemble, true to size and to it’s description, plus they came well packaged. Not disappointed at all and would highly recommend. We were taking a risk putting them over our cabinets and were prepared to put them somewhere else if they crowded the area too much. But I’m happy to say that they added great character and are perfect size. If they can look great over these cabinets, I think they’ll look great anywhere. Nice design, puts out a good amount of light. Directions a little thin, but ok for anyone who has changed a light fixture before. The adjustable wire for the free side (side opposite the outlet) probably needs to be trimmed--but nothing says this should be done. The screw that anchors the free end can go directly into the ceiling drywall anywhere--doesn't need to be drilled into wood. Two people needed to mount it and get the angles right. I used MR16 GU10 Dimmable 15,000-Hour LED Light Bulb 2700K in Soft White, and the light is crisp and warm enough (not as warm as halogen, of course, but they run cool by comparison). The specs said it needs a transformer--it doesn't just a standard 120V outlet. I am very happy with this product, just need to put in a dimmer.... Lorren. Sun Jun 30 2024

This light is easy to install and gives off great light. You can put it over the fireplace to illuminate an artwork or shine light on a statue in the corner of the room. You can also use it to light up a small pantry, a closet, a kitchen island, or a laundry room. Some people even use it as a carriage light on the porch or put it on a covered patio. It looks so great at night with a nice, CRIsp light that is so clean and bright.
