This is a very nice cat shelter for the feral cat that has moved into my yard . Very simple to assemble, sturdy and looks like it will hold up in the Midwest weather. The roof is hinged and the floor is removable. To insure that the floor is not pushed up by a predator, I added two bricks inside the shelter. My feral cat had kittens in this box about 4 months ago and has been sleeping in it at night ever since. She goes underneath to lay in the shade, and also sits on top of the house to get a view. It’s cute watching her teach her kitten how to use it. Whole thing is insulated in the interior and made of wood. The wood will start to split in the weather which hasn’t affected it structurally so far, but if you’re handy it would make sense to cover the exterior with a coat of poly. Unfortunately, after a couple of days "Sami" became indifferent to it. Wasn't worth giving up a living room window for limited use. He doesn't mind the sill of a screened open window. Decided to return it which turned into a bit of a hassle. It had to be sent back using original packaging or equivalent. I took photos of each unpackaging step. Without them, repacking it would have been next to impossible. Wayfair did offer a partial credit if I wanted to keep the item and skip the return process. The ~$35 credit against the $169.99 cost was not acceptable to me so, I managed to repackage it and send it back. Had to pay FEDEX return shipping charge of $33. This little catio is so cool. We have nine indoor cats and while we would like for them to be able to go outside they are not really safe to do so in our neighborhood.
