Hugh is a classic matelassé constructed of mercerized cotton for a sleek appearance and hand feel. The all-over stippling design provides subtle interest, and the coverlet is finished with scalloped edge rounded front corners. Matelasse (mat-la-SAY) is a weaving or stitching technique yielding a pattern that appears quilted or padded. Matelass may be achieved by hand, on a jacquard loom, or a quilting machine. It is meant to mimic the style of hand-stitched quilts made in Marseilles, France. It is a heavy, thick textile that appears to be padded, but actually has no padding within the fabric. Our Hugh Matelasse has a soft, pebble-like texture.

This Bedspread is absolutely gorgeous. I love the oversized feature. I love that it is light, if more cover is needed will use a blanket or quilt. It looks great on my antique bed. The only thing—it had a “plastic smell” when I removed it from the packaging. I let it air out for over 24 hours and now it is fine. Not a deal breaker—I am very happy with this item.. Jlele. The intricate quilting detail on the Sane quilt is guided by hand to achieve the delicate raised scroll motif. The rayon ground and dramatic scalloped edge lends a dressy air to this traditional collection. Available in: Ivonry/Vanilla, Light Blueish-Green/Aqua

I’m delighted with this beautiful quilt. It’s much prettier than the pictures showed when shopping. I like the weight of it, too. Several years ago, I brought one similar but it was much heavier, and was difficult to wash and dry. I would totally recommend this quilt!. Sandy. Frisco, TX. Fri Jan 21 2022

Exceeded my expectations. It is a lovely bedspread of superior quality. The scalloped edging lends a touch of elegance. The matelassé quilted stitching is subtle and beautiful. Its a bit heavier than I expected but I'm very pleased with it. The 100% cotton is soft and very comfortable. The style fits so wonderfully with my 19th century bedroom furnishings. I purchased the King size ivory floral design. Terrific price, I highly recommend this Historic Charleston Estate Bed spread.. Helen. Woodland Hills, UT. Sun Mar 22 2026

This complete set includes one quilt and two matching embroidered pillow shams. Built with premium construction—a 100% polyester cover with 90% cotton filling—it delivers plush, cloud-like comfort. Lightweight yet warm and pre-washed for natural softness, it offers year-round comfort that brings elegant, cozy charm to any bedroom or living space as a versatile home accent. For easy care, simply machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low.

I really like this comforter. It matches the description exactly it’s a lightweight very soft comforter. It has beautiful embroidered flowers, but also has printed flowers. This quilt is reversible. The flipside is pure crisp white. The only problem I encountered was I ordered the wrong size. The description on the site gives measurements versus indicating if it’s queen or king. So I popped those measurements into Google and it led me to believe the larger size would be more appropriate for my queen size bed if I wanted more of a drape on the sides, however as you can see by the photos it’s just a little bit too much of a drape. That’s totally on me though. Additionally, because it really measures more for a king size bed the two pillow shams are very large and require a king size pillow. However even though I chose the wrong size, it still looks very nice. If you want a thin soft quilt this is the one for you.. Kim. Jacksonville, FL. Thu Aug 06 2026
