This isn’t a solid wood coffee table as advertised. It is planks of lumber attached together and wrapped in some sort of plastic that has been printed to look like wood. Similar to the texture and finish you would see on a fake log at some sort of amusement park attraction. I selected this particular table because the wood grain was real and not simulated. I was not disappointed! Assembly involved screwing 4 bolts per leg into threaded insert on the underside of the table top. They even provided a hex drive for a cordless screwdriver to expedite assembly. One curious element was how the legs were strapped into the back of the table with staples — which detracted from my perceived vale of the table.
