The endeavor was hailed as the most beautiful J-Class yacht ever built. She was the best and most impressive sailboat that Britain ever built to race in America's Cup series. Endeavour had speed as well as beauty. Built in 1933 by T.O.M. Sopwith, the undisputed leader of the British aircraft industry, Endeavour possessed many new and innovative devices, including below-deck winches, new sail designs, and an improved spinnaker. Even with an amateur crew, she came closer to winning the Cup than any other challenger up to that time. The endeavor was a faster yacht than her contender Rainbow. She beat Rainbow in the first two races. However, the American team was a much more OK crew and defeated Endeavour all the next three races by out-thinking her captain. In the third race, as a direct result of Vanderbilt, the skipper of ''Rainbow'', failing to pull away, the yachts almost collided when Endeavour had the right of way. Sopwith raised the protest flag after the race in accordance with British rules. The race committee dismissed the protest as the American rules stated the protest flag is to be flown at the time of the foul. This prompted a British writer to comment, ''Britannia rules the waves, but America waives the rules.'' When Endeavour returned to England she continued to dominate the British racing scene until 1938 when she was laid up for the duration of World War II. Saved by Elizabeth Meyer of New Port, RI, today she is one of the most breathtaking sights on the water. To take the helm of such a yacht is to experience pure power, grace, and speed.

The sailboat is a decent size. We wanted something bigger but didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars so it fits pretty well up there. That’s where our coastal live.. Stephanie. Mon Sep 07 2026

6-Light Wooden Pendant Light is especially creative, the center is a piece of corrosion-resistant and not easy-to-deform solid wood, on both sides are three lampshades each, and the upper part is connected with an adjustable hanging chain to support a flat/sloped ceiling, Its design looks like a vintage ship, retro boats not only provide lighting, but their unique designs can also make your home decoration more unique.

This ship light is made of real wood but not sealed with poly acrylic sealer non yellowing so I lightly sanded it and added 2 coats and wow it came to life so beautiful now it will be so easy to clean the only miner problem is it’s not made for the round junction box the hole is bigger than the rectangle plate that goes over the American round junction box so we will add a decorative molding or another larger rectangular plate to the ceiling I love this unique design. Authentic, handcrafted wood furnishings stylized to evoke a powerful sense of the nautical lifestyle. Made from premium materials by an expert craftsman, our pieces accent your home, office, or business - and each one is a perfect original.

The canoe took a little while to get however it is completely totally worth the wait. It is beautiful made stained wood with a nice gloss shine to it. When you have a large wall it is hard to find the right piece to place on the wall so it doesn’t overwhelm the space or look too small. This was probably the best choice I could have made that we would be the happiest with. ❤️. Jodie. Saint Peters, MO. Sun Feb 08 2026

The San Felipe was one of the most beautiful Spanish ships in the 1600s. Launched in 1690, it had 96 cannons and was the lead ship of the feared Spanish Armada. It was powerful enough to go up against the most formidable ships in the French and British navies. In 1705, the San Felipe and 11 other Spanish ships waged a furious and heroic battle against 35 British ships. After 24 hours of fighting, the San Felipe was captured but was so badly damaged that it could not be salvaged as a prize. It sank with several tons of gold.

A kayak is a small human-powered boat. It typically has a covered deck, and a cockpit covered by a spraydeck. It is propelled by a double-bladed paddle by a sitting paddler. The kayak was used by the native Ainu, Aleut and Eskimo hunters in sub-arctic regions of northeastern Asia, North America and Greenland. Modern kayaks come in a wide variety of designs and materials for specialized purposes. Kayaks are commonly referred to as canoes in Great Britain and Ireland. Kayaks were originally developed by indigenous people living in the Arctic regions, who used the boats to hunt on inland lakes, rivers and the coastal waters of the Arctic Ocean, North Atlantic, Bering Sea and North Pacific oceans. These first kayaks were constructed from stitched animal skins such as seal stretched over a wooden frame made from collected driftwood, as many of the areas of their construction were treeless. Archaeologists have found evidence indicating that kayaks are at least 4000 years old.
