This one-of-a-kind item is made from the stumps and unused trunks of harvested teak trees, from ecologically managed forests. Once the tree is harvested, the remaining stumps must be removed to make space to plant replacement trees. In the past, these pieces would be harvested and then burned to dispose of them. Today we use these tree stumps and trunks to create beautiful, handcrafted pieces for your home. Coloring, cracks, and shapes will vary between items. Suitable for indoor use only. This item ships fully assembled in one piece. Due to the live edges of the piece, each is unique, so no two products will have an identical pattern, shade, or cut. Maximum weight limit is 400 lbs. This stool is cut from a responsibly harvested chamcha tree trunk. Chamcha is an acacia species native to Thailand. We love the visible wood grains, even after we treat them to create this stone-like patina. The freeform line of the trunk remains intact, preserving the natural integrity of this piece. This is what modern organic looks like.
