For the price, wish it was a sharper image. With my silk rope and brass candle sconces, it should make an amazing statement once I hang it.. Robbi. Searcy, AR. Sun Oct 18 2026

A winged bull with a fine white coat walks proudly toward the right. With its head drawn into its neck and stiff-legged walking gait, the bull's body is animated by the movement of its raised tail. The Winged Bull is a Belgian made jacquard wall tapestry. This image originally decorated the walls of the palace built by Darius I (549-486 BCE) at Susa. His palace was inspired by that of King Nebuchadnezzar's Ishtar Gate in Babylon. The Susian bull, an image of strength and power, protection and defense, personifies the royal authority. The bull figure has also been found in the stone reliefs at Persepolis with or without wings also shown in action, in a confrontation with a lion. This stunning piece complements your home decor motif adding a sophistication to your atmosphere that only ancient art can provide.

Napoleon (Burgundy) is a Belgian made jacquard wall tapestry. This famous coat of arms of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte is based on a historic tapestry and features the eagle and bees of the Empire style. In this heraldic tapestry the images of the horn of plenty and where fruit bursts forth supports the central emblem of a crest with an eagle. The royal crown is at the apex. The eagle and the bee are symbols of the first and second empire. Napoleon was proclaimed emperor in 1804 and he convened a session of the Conseil d'Etat to determine the new emblem for the empire. The bees represent the head of France being like a hive to the bees and are a symbol of immortality. One of the oldest emblems of the sovereigns of France. On the top left see the hand of justice and on the base of the central crest we see the 5 sided chain of the Legion d'honneur, a decoration for military and civil services. The eagle was associated with battle victories and the eagle was placed on top of the shaft of every flag in his army. This is a lovely historical piece that complements any home decor motif.

It’s great quality. A bit pricey for the size, but is a thick and well-made tapestry.. Dana. Beaumont, TX. Thu Nov 22 2018

Exotique is a Belgian wall tapestry depicting the pineapple harvest. From a set of ten tapestries called The History of the Chinese Emperor commissioned by Louis Alexandre de Bourbon, son of King Louis XIV, to the Beauvais Manufacture. At the end of the 17th century the Jesuit missionaries were returning from China with tales and knowledge that were to influence the royal courts of Europe. These tapestries, very exotic for the time, were initially made for the Rambouillet castle. A fine accent to your home decor.

The design depicting formal Italianate gardens with ornate fountains comes from an original Verdure Gobelin tapestry woven at Oudenaarde in Flanders.
