One curious element was how the legs were strapped into the back of the table with staples — which detracted from my perceived vale of the table. Most tricky part of assembly was screwing in the lift-top mechanism into the table sides and top, due to lack of space and odd position for screwing in. This is a very nice-looking table. I like the dark color of the wood, I like the shelf underneath, and I like the rounded edges. The wood top is very smooth, too. Unfortunately, there is a little scratch right on the top that is noticeable. This didnt take more than about twenty minutes to put together. If there is something I would change, there are screws right on the legs where the lower shelf attaches. Those screws dont have any covers, and they are in spots on the legs that are clearly visible, so I just stare at flaws. And, this is just an aside I really dont understand why companies put labeling stickers in places where they could be problematic if they dont come off easily. There was a labeling sticker right on the top of this table. It did come off easily and didnt happen to cause a problem, but it was needlessly placed on the wrong side.. Lisa Burdick. Ilion, NY. This is a very nice table but I am disappointed in the sloppy stain application. Stain was missing near joints and a couple of places that were visible.
