It's heavy and seems to hold my umbrella. When you tighten the screw holding the pole, it leaves a gap (see photo). I worry about water getting in here and rusting. note: If you don't tighten it enough and grab it by the umbrella, the pole can slip out. I learned the hard way when the stand landed on my foot.. This is the perfect size for our patio. The color (navy) was perfect. Works easily. My husband would have preferred a button to separate the top piece and bottom. This umbrella screws in and you must rotate the top to get the two connected. this makes it very sturdy but not as easy to take apart to store.
