Our toilet tank is flush with the wall so we left the bottom support crosspiece off until we fitted the bottom portion over the toilet, we then added the crosspiece in place, then the top unit. Took a star away as if you have a baseboard the screws provided to anchor it to the wall are not long enough and youll need to go out and buy longer ones yourself. The instructions were pretty clear, as these things go. Couple minor complaints: 1) Our bathroom has a bit of a smell with it newly installed. I'm sure this will go away but a little concerning that it is off-gassing. 2) One of the doors arrived with a flaw, the coating was coming off, which is super disappointing. Purchased this to go over my powder room toilet since the toilet lid is sloped so the tissue box and other stuff just keep sliding off of it. This product is made of real sturdy and solid wood. Just a tad cumbersome putting it together by yourself. The only issue I had was the stabilizer board at the bottom. It did not quite fit in my toilet configuration, so I took out the top screws and allowed it to flip under.
