I bought two gates and they look fabulous.. . Very easy assembling. Just need someone's help to hold the pieces, otherwise any adult can assemble it. Got all the nuts and Allan keys for assembling, but i used another key for easy handling. Be careful when handling it as it is very easy to get scratches. Very nice gate . All my neighbours were so impressive on the designs... There are few bits to highlight for the improvement of the future products. 1) Some parts (Poles) were not finished well as there were some dents (un even surfaces - bit bad finishing) 2) The lock tongue direction is wrong. we usually open the gate to inside and the tongue direction should be the other way round which we cannot simply adjust with rotating the panels, etc, because of the design. 3) Do further more designs, So will have unique design for most customers... The arbor is beautiful and strong. I gave it 4 stars because there is an issue. The lattice is made of very thin cedar (less than 1/4 of an inch) and it is stapled together. A few or the staples came loose during assembly and will need to be redone. I am considering adding stronger cedar boards on the sides to strengthen it. At this price point, I think the manufacturer should have used stronger wood for the lattice. There were also a few bumps and marks, but these were minor. The packaging and quality of the cedar is very good. Like Teal, of Pomona, NY stated in their review: it’s a box of wood and bag of hardware and some very simplistic instructions. As a prolific builder and DIYfer I used my experience in assembling the arch. Fortunately, I have a pneumatic brad nailer with galvanized brads which made short time in nailing the many pieces together. I did not follow the slat spacing suggestions from the directions, rather having read the reviews, I made my own jig spacers after careful measurements. Pros: Good quality cedar; Looks excellent when completed; Assembly is straight forward once you figure out the spacing; Left unfinished the cedar will gracefully weather Cons: Directions need embellishment; Not for those wanting a quick assembly; Took over 6 hours to complete; Nails provided are not galvanized and should be of an outside product; Only 2 decorative wooden “arrows”---should be 4 for two on each side; Added longer and beefier exterior screws at the top/side joints for more strength. This is a Beautiful garden entrance arbor. I am in the process of putting it together so the picture doesn’t show the finished gate. It arrived with some broken pieces so I knocked off a star for broken pieces. It’s soft wood and I’m not sure how long it will last in the Texas elements but it’s very pretty and the color matches my fence. It’s a little wobbly so I’m going to dig it into the ground for it to be more sturdy. I’m using it to create a divide from my ugly side yard and I’ll be planting grapes over the arbor and I think it will look very pretty. This gate is made out of super steel which normally would be great but there's no pre drilled holes for the hinges and latch and its nearly impossible to make a dent in the gate. So I cant attach it to the matching FE26 hinges nor the latch. 0 stars. For the price i paid I wanted something easy to put together that actually works. TL,DR: The quality is good for the money and while you may have some alignment issues, overall this is a good buy. I do recommend treating the wood with a natural wood sealer (the kind used for garden beds) to protect from UV and water damage, to make it last longer. The Good: - Quality Wood - Smells Good - Hardware seems to be decent quality, hopefully it does not rust - Comes Partially Assembled, easy to put together (30 minutes, tops). The Bad: - The cross bars are only held in place with 1 or 2 staples at each joint, so they come apart very easily. - The alignment of the cross bars was wrong on one of the arbors I received so I had to disassemble it and put it back together myself with adhesive. Thankfully disassembly was easy because they are only held together by a staple or two... which is bad but in this case good? This arbor is exactly what I wanted for my native honeysuckle: solid wood, salt treated, not flimsy. Rounded edges, anchors included. I have very sandy soil where I put this arbor so I had to use extra anchors: 4 foot rebar pounded almost 3 feet in, and I think that'll do unless we get some serious weather.
