Now that the fall has arrived birds are making frequent visit to bathe and the squirrels think it's there public drinking fountain. My fountain was easily assembled however the problem I discovered was that in order to use the light, I needed two outlets and I already was using one for my patio lights. So I plugged the light to the fountain into the automatic timer and it comes on now when my outside lights do. It works perfectly and l’m pleased. The sound was very important to me because I’ve had fountains before that made a hollow sound and not very relaxing, this one is soothing as it cascades over the rippled edges and doesn’t splash outside the fountain.. Well after reading other reviews I don’t agree that you can’t hear the water. I do think after getting it that it’s overpriced by 50.00. It’s made in China not the US. Other folks commented that the pump burnt out quickly. Well I’m only on day one so I can’t really speak to that. This fountain made a great addition to my yard. It is well made and installation was easy. I wired the lights into my existing low voltage patio lights for convenience as it comes with separate cords for the pump and lights. This arrived yesterday. It came direct from the manufacturer in a large heavy duty cardboard box with an incredible amount of heavy paper packing material. The fountain is the large model and is exactly as described dimensions wise. Was easy to assemble although I had a nozzle type piece with no idea what to do with. Anyhow it works just like the picture with about a 2-3” high flow with the pump on high. The pump is very quiet and the water flow makes minimal noise. The pump has a swing vane on the inlet to control flow. The power cord is about 14 feet long. I bought it to attract hummingbirds but no luck yet. Very happy with this fountain and recommend it.. Set up was fine . Please note that you can just plug into an electrical outlet . You do not need to “hard wire it” as the description says. It is easy. However, the unit has a defect! The fake copper lip that the water falls from is NOT LEVEL ! Therefore the waterfall will never be like the picture in a nice V fall. I was hesitant to order this because I initially wanted something that had the fountain functional in multi layers or as a wall of streaming water, not something that was smaller and designed to look like it sits on a pedestal. I was also worried about the low price and quality. I am very impressed with this. First, it is heavy - the stated specs are 22.7 lbs and it is closer to 45lbs. That means it is sturdy and robust. The pump and light are easy to assemble. This took me more time to unbox than it did to set up. It was packaged in a large box with ample hard foam padding all four sides. The sound of the water is loud enough to hear over a noise AC unit but not so loud that it is distracting. Saw these in front of a house but different model and we were determined to have something similar for the front of our house. We purchased three in different sizes and had them installed. I love this Fountain however, about the plastic plug at the base of the bottom bowl tends to pop up and allow water to drain, my handyman was able to Jerry rig a system that holds the plug down so problem is solved but manufacturer should address.
