It is very nice however hardwiring is not an option for me. The small light that is powered by the solar battery does not put off very much light. It is very dim compared to other solar lights I have on my property. Since I was installing mine on a wood rail I had to find 4 screws that were long enough to fit the base. This thing is amazing! I would prefer the option to have a softer yellow tone light in addition to the bright white, but it fits my needs. Needed a light out near the chicken coop/run but too far from nearest electrical feed to run anything permanent. This fits the bill. I have it on the mode where the light stays on low but comes on bright when approached or when it signals motion from a predator. Lights up the area very well for night time feeding/cleaning activities. I will remove the water from base and replace with sand before winter. Only thing I would change would be an option for an off/motion on mode rather than just low light/bright motion. Love that we can put it anywhere we need more light.. Robert. Leroy, OH. The solar outdoor post light is very well made. It comes in sections that are screwed together. The base has holes to insert the included concrete expansion bolts. The description says it can be placed on grass but to do so requires a 1” 6’ long post, the full length of the light, inserted in the ground and long landscape pins or tent pegs to secure it from falling over. Luckily I had a 1” diameter 6’ steel flag holder that had two ground pegs and I was able to assemble it around it. I’m really amazed and pleased that the light turned on at dusk and stayed on until 6 am! It had only charged half a day! Bought this lamp post to match my garage lights. Overall it looks good. My only complaint is that the glass is FROSTED not clear. It looks clear on the website but it’s not, it’s frosted.
