This is really an attractive lamp. We mounted it near a door on the sunniest side of our house. There is a choice of dimmer or brighter setting on the lamp, I suppose to modulate how long the battery charge will last. For us, this is excellent in the summer because of more sun and longer days. I'm finding that I'm less satisfied with it as a solution during the winter, not because of the lamp itself, but because our winter days are often excessively overcast and it gets dark early. So the battery charges less because of less ambient light, and then runs out of charge earlier in the evening because depletion of the battery starts earlier.. Jennifer. Portland, OR.
