I wanted to use this more as a place to hold outdoor utensils, plates, etc. for our patio. This is truly more of a potting bench. It is not waterproof. I think water could get in pretty easily through the way the planks are constructed. It was easy to put together. It is a bit on the rustic side (drawers are clunky).
