Wow, this is a beautiful lantern. Arrived very securely packaged. I found the same item on another (much more expensive) website before I found the exact same thing here at a substantially better price (kicking myself over that one). This lantern is just beautiful in both day and night environments, but especially at night, when the colors reflect on the surface the lantern is sitting on. The solar bulb is bright, allowing for the beautiful reflective design. The thickness of the glass is substantial -- it doesn't feel like it will break easily. These are attractive outdoor lanterns with solar powered light. There is an on/off switch at the top in case you just want them off for a while. Although I love the look of the lights, there is one problem for me. They are very light weight. My postal scale shows each weights just over 11 oz. As breezy as it can get where I live, I cannot leave them outdoors. They would blow away! I can only bring them out when I am using them and it is not a breezy/windy day. I was thinking I might be able to open the tops and add a few heavy rocks inside, but I am unable to open the top. That is actually where the little solar panel is and I suspect they don't want anyone messing with that area. You could possibly bury the bottom base in the dirt and then leave them outside, but I have not tried that yet. I'm waiting to make sure we don't get more snow! These lanterns are beautiful! I got the bronze. They are well made with attention to detail. The instructions state to charge them for 6 hours. I received them at 3:45 pm. My apartment faces east, and the sun was already over my apartment building, no longer on my balcony or coming in any windows. I set them on the balcony receiving only daylight. At dark, they lit right up full power. So, either they were already charged, or the daylight was adequate for charging. I get only about 3 hours of sun on my balcony due to trees and the building east of mine being higher on a ridge and blocking sun at times , so they have never been charged for 6 hours straight.
