This is a lightweight fan with plastic blades. It has six fan speeds and comes with a remote. From my experience covered lights like this one are usually fairly dim but the light on this fan is surprisingly bright. The overall look of the fan is nice and looks great on our back porch. Why in the world the previous owner installed white ceiling fans on a brown house is beyond me!! I hated the old fan, how dirty it was and how it didn't match the exterior of the house in any way at all. So, I stumbled upon this GREENEVER outdoor ceiling fan and knew it would be perfect! The fan was fairly easy to install (cramming the remote box into the housing without crimping wires is always the hardest part!). The ABS blades will hold up in any weather, yet don't look like plastic. The fan is totally quiet - not a sound! The 3 different LED temperature colors are perfect for our outdoor area off of the bedroom - we can choose a bright white light, or something more muted in the evening. I'm definitely pleased!.
