Seems to be made of quality, heavy duty wood. It comes in three boxes and took about two hours to put together. The blue section is not attached in anyway so you could choose to not use it. Very glad I purchased this item. It is sturdy enough to hold a 77" TV and looks classy doing it. Love the windows. Brushed hardware. I recommend paying for someone to put it together. Make sure you pay for them to haul the box away. My only mistake was I didn't. Oops on me. Otherwise, the young man that installed the product,did a great job. 10/10.
