I Love to Have Fun 1 suggests the work of the distinguished 20th-century American artist Joan Mitchell, renowned for her contributions to painting, printmaking, and other paper-based media. This expansive gestural abstract work on canvas is notable for its dynamic brushwork and riot of color. Non-representational marks, lines, and shapes offer a sense of movement while the dense layering of color draws in the viewer. A strong color scheme in cherry red, blush pink, apricot, steel blue, and dandelion gives the work a playful feel.

I love it! The Sonnenbaum picture took around 6 weeks to receive from the date of order. The paint quality and color are vibrant. It appears to be a print with clear strokes over it to give a slightly textured appearance. I'm now looking for a companion picture for my living room; vertical, around 50-60" x 80-90" if anyone can make a suggestion! It should have the same color pallet and set a peaceful tone to the house.. Carol. Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Mon Aug 31 2026

Influenced by European impressionist works of the past, I started and finished this piece over a weekend in Lillie, France. The rich colors of the buildings and the artfully planted gardens provided an overabundance of inspiration. Thick layers of paint are hand applied to create movement and texture. Because it is hand painted, no two pieces of art will be exactly the same. The gallery wrapped canvas is set into a floating gold leaf wood frame.
