I have some of the baskets that use the space between shelves so this is a flexible option that doesn't use the vertical space and since I have storage boxes already on them limiting the clearance of the baskets above I'm glad to have an option otherwise. I bought this to organize my craft items. The shelves arrived disassembled in a box. The directions were pretty clear once I read it through and was able to determine what was meant because the pieces were all separated and labeled logically.
