Mine is the amber one. It resembles a lamp that my grandmother owned years ago. The edge of the lamp shade looks very much like hand- tatted lace. The difference is, this lace is solid glass and will not ravel, stain, or catch dust. My grandmother's lamp had survived the Dust Bowl in Oklahoma, and the dust from the red soil had permanently stained it. This matters to me because I live in Oklahoma where we have loads of dust. I will always be able to clean any dirt that accumulates on the lamp shade. The lamp is stunning; I also love the two pull chains and the ambience provided by the soft amber color of the glass.. This hurricane lamp is beautiful! It’s a really serene color blue and is much bigger in person, so much so that I need to get a bigger candle for it. I like that the color is more saturated at the top. You can really see the candle flickering thru the sides. The glass is thick. The pedestal on the bottom gives it a luxurious feel. Highly recommend. Kelpk. Burr Ridge. Fri Oct 09 2026
